About me
Photography isn’t just what I do — it’s how I see the world.
I’m CJ Nox, a photographer and visual artist based on the Isle of Wight, driven by a deep curiosity about light, place, and the way moments unfold. What began as a personal exploration with a camera has grown into a creative practice that spans fine art prints, portrait photography, editorial storytelling, and visual education through YouTube and Instagram.
My Work; Art with Intention.
At the heart of my photography is a commitment to craft, atmosphere, and presence. Whether I’m framing a subtle shift in light across a coastline or guiding someone through a portrait session, I aim to create images that feel alive, timeless, and true to the moment. Across all genres I work in - landscapes, portraits, editorial, or digital magazine features - the approach stays the same: slow down, observe carefully, and let the image reveal itself.
My landscape work explores mood and environment through subtle composition and evocative light. Many of these images are born from repeated visits to the same locations - watching how conditions evolve and waiting for the moment that feels right .These photographs are available as professional fine art prints, crafted with archival materials to ensure longevity and depth. Some are part of limited Signature Collections - signed and numbered editions designed as heirloom pieces for your home or workspace. Each print is an invitation to live with stillness, beauty, and a sense of place.
My portrait work, in clients’ homes or chosen outdoor locations across the Isle of Wight, is rooted in making people feel at ease. Creating a calm space where personality and presence come through naturally. Whether you’re seeking expressions of family, individual portraits, or visual storytelling that feels real (not staged), I bring the same intentional eye and creative care to every session.
Nox Exposure is my digital photography magazine. It's a space where imagery and narrative live side by side. Each issue celebrates the art of seeing: the places that inspire us, the details we often overlook, and the craft behind the frame. More than a showcase of images, Nox Exposure offers behind-the-scenes insights, personal essays, and visual essays for photographers, travellers, and anyone who appreciates thoughtful photographic storytelling.
In addition to my print and editorial work, I share photography insights, creative process videos, and visual diaries through YouTube and Instagram. These platforms allow me to connect with a broader creative community, share practical tips, and explore new visual ideas in motion and stills. From behind-the-lens stories to technique walk-throughs, my goal is to make photography approachable and inspiring for anyone who wants to look deeper and create with intention.
My Philosophy
Every photograph, whether a landscape, a portrait, or a story in a magazine, is an opportunity to pause, to see more clearly, and to remember that beauty often lives in the subtle, quiet moments. That perspective guides everything I do.Photography has taught me to slow down, to notice what others might miss, and to celebrate both the ordinary and the extraordinary with the same care.
